Teeth Whitening

AN INSTANT BRIGHTER SMILE

Bleaching or Whitening

As we age, the enamel on our teeth becomes thinner and more transparent allowing the inner layer, called dentin, to look darker. Our teeth also absorb color from our diet. Liquids, such as, tea, soft drinks, coffee and red wine are mostly responsible for “enhancing” shades in our teeth that are undesirable.

teeth whiteningSensitivity can occur while whitening teeth. This happens when bleaching molecules get trapped in nerve passageways. Sensitivity is normally temporary. If you have sensitive teeth prior to whitening you may want to consider fluoride treatments in conjunction with whitening to lessen sensitivity. The key ingredient in the whitening agents we prescribe is peroxide. Peroxide forms tiny bubbles on the surface of your teeth that lifts stains.

Custom fitting trays are fabricated from molds taken of your teeth. Whitening agent is placed in the trays and then placed over your teeth. This process takes place at home and is most effective when done consecutively for approximately 14 days. While whitening you will want to avoid the above mentioned staining culprits.

WE LOOK FORWARD TO BRIGHTENING YOUR SMILE
